Designjet Printers

These non-impact printers are used in architecture, engineering, and graphic design environments. Because they have to use large paper for its purposes, these type of printer is suitable for the environment mentioned early.

Designjet printes are inkjet printers, but in a large size and more expensive. They can print in large paper, continuous paper (roll), and letter or smaller. Some designjet use more ink cartridges than inkjet printers.

Designjet print in a resolution of 1200 x 600 dpi in black, and 2400 x 1200 dpi in color, at low and high end. The media type (paper) ranges from Letter to envelopes; roll: 3" x 5.6" to 24.6" x 63.9". They come in two model sizes: 18" and 24".

All printers has different options to install; they have some features that do not come included with the printer. Designjet has many options, among them is the cutter. They cut the paper, that comes in a roll , when it finishes printing.

Despite that they don not use pens to draw lines continuously, they only simulate lines by drawing dots together, they are also known as plotters.
