Bluetooth

Bluetooth Logo and it's network communication

A short-range radio technology aimed at simplifying communications and data synchronization between devices. Bluetooth is designed for low power consumption. It enables the devices to communicate with each other when they are in range. Because it uses radio frecuency, the devices do not have to be in line of sight of each other. They can communicate from different rooms, as long as the transmission is powerful enough.

Bluetooth is used on many devices, such as:

  • Mobile Phones.
  • Laptops.
  • Personal Computers.
  • Printers.
  • Digital Cameras.
  • Video Games Consoles.

This technology is commonly used to transfer sound or voice data with phones (headset) or transferring files with handheld computers. Also, simplifies the discovery and setup of services between devices. Unlike WiFi, there is no need to setup network addresses and/or permissions .
